My obsession with Mexican food is REAL. Fajitas, Tacos, Burritos, Mexican Rice, Tortillas, Quesadillas, Enchiladas ohh dear god how delicious. My idea of Food Heaven.
I’m a snob when it comes to ingredients. Packet stuff is filled with rubbish, and I now refuse to eat crap like that. Now don’t get me wrong, I do eat “junk” from time to time. I do at times eat what is readily available to me due to cost, time, convenience and so forth. Ok…I’m a snob, but it is what it is. I’m tired of over processed foods or ultra-processed foods. I’m tired of eating something only to feel hungry again after 10 minutes. I’m tired of packet foods being filled with fillers and chemicals and all this weird shit.
So that’s how we came to our Fajita Seasoning Mix. I got creative one day (which would interpret to – I was bored outta my mind moment) and read the ingredients off a packet of Fajita mix. I recall throwing the same ingredients MINUS the preservatives, food enhancers and colourings and came up with our version.
Is fajita seasoning and taco seasoning the same thing? STOP RIGHT THERE!! No, no, no. They are not the same thing at all. There are similar ingredients that make each seasoning, but fajita seasoning has less spice/chilli and is more subtle whereas Taco seasoning has a ton more chilli and oregano. Can you use fajita seasoning in tacos? Of course, you could. (By the way stay tuned and keep checking our socials and website as our Taco Seasoning is coming very soon!).
Our version of Fajita Seasoning is loaded with chilli, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. On first taste the cumin is what hits, then slowly the chilli comes powering through then the salt. These seven spices together leave you with an “earthy” taste.
I make a magical Chicken Fajita Lasagne and use this seasoning each and every time and it the explosion of flavour is amazing.
Our Fajita Seasoning can be used in Chicken Fajitas, Beef Fajitas, Chicken Fajita Lasagne, in Fajita Pies, Enchilada Pies, Fajita Salads just to name a few.
