We’ve decided to reintroduce our French Onion Blend. Why? Because it’s that darn good! I have been using it so much over this Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
My personal history behind this blend was that I was buying packets of the “French Onion Soup Mix” from the supermarket almost weekly. I tend to use it in so many recipes and I make a wonderful French onion dip from scratch using the stuff.
A few years back due to a family member having some extremely weird allergic reactions (to some pretty trippy stuff) I started to really read the ingredient labels on many, if not all, products.
I was in a position where I had to constantly be alert, aware and I needed to be very well informed on what was being put in our food and in turn in our mouths. Trust me, it was a horrible experience to be constantly on guard as we did not want any more hospital visits.
I guess that was the point in my life where I made the conscious decision to change what we ate, what ingredients we used and to ditch the crappy pre-packaged, full of chemicals and preservatives for once and for all. What I found was that my food now tasted so much better using our homemade additive and chemical free blends and seasonings. Our food was also healthier, and the flavours were deep, like really deep. In time Zoitsa Homely Produce came into fruition.
