Making its first appearance to Zoitsa Homely Produce’s inventory is our No Salt Seasoning.
I was asked a few months back by a friend if I could concoct them a No Salt Seasoning as they had just been put on a low sodium diet. They had tried to use their everyday herbs and spices and that had helped with taste, but they wanted something a little bit more special. Challenge was set, and challenge was accepted by yours truly.
I wanted to make this seasoning using their favourite herbs and spices. We sat down together and with pen and paper in hand we got to our No Salt Seasoning.
This seasoning was one that I was not going to place in our inventory but after a ton load of comments and recommendations from family and friends I felt compelled to bring this out to you, the wider public. It’s actually too good not to share!
The “base” of our No Salt Seasoning is the garlic and onion powders, then hints of herbal and floral notes all due to the thyme and celery seeds and then it all comes together nicely with a dash of smoked paprika and yellow mustard seeds which are milled down to a fine consistency.
Our No Salt Seasoning makes a flavourful blend and the beauty of it is that if you are watching your sodium intake it is much easier to keep track and control how much salt/sodium is going into your meal.
It’s wonderful addition to salads, sauteed vegetables, soups, avocado, fried eggs. Superb in beef, pork, turkey, chicken, plant based, Quorn mince and would be spectacular on BBQ meats.
Our No Salt Seasoning will definitely enhance the flavour of your meals, and this is without a doubt a great addition to your pantry and spice and cupboard. It is a tasty salt alternative or replacement and is simply gorgeous!
