Rotisserie Chicken Rub

Our Rotisserie Chicken Rub is here and man its SOOO good!

I worked a lot on this rub and looked at hundreds of recipes and trialled a lot of them but found them either very salty or with way too much heat.

The Hubster recently purchased a new “toy” for his barbeque – a rotisserie accessory pack, so we thought let’s try this new toy out and make some roast chickens. We had some family come over for dinner and we thought what better way to trial out the rotisserie equipment, feed the troops, and trial our rub on our unsuspecting guests.

Our Rotisserie Chicken Rub is made using onion powder, garlic powder, tarragon leaves, smoked paprika, thyme leaves, a little bit of salt and pepper. Seven simple and I guess you could say everyday herbs and spices that came together and made this beautiful rub.

I opted to use smoked paprika as I thought a roast chicken would taste better with a smoky taste and it would be a great way to bring out the complex and savoury elements to this rub.

On first taste of our rotisserie chicken rub it imparts a smoky, earthy, flowery but weirdly sweet taste (even though here is no added sugar).

The roast chickens, or shall I say the rotisserie chickens, tasted phenomenal. They were juicy and cooked to perfection, but I had all my guests asking me what “flavourings” were on my chicken. I explained to all that we were trialling a new recipe, and the consensus was that our rotisserie chicken rub was extraordinary and absolutely delicious.

A few weeks later I trialled it again, I made another roast chicken but this time in the oven. Again, it was superb and ever so tasty. I had a dinner guest come over who only eats chicken breast, so I decided to cut a slits in the chicken breast and make a paste using some olive oil and smear it all over the breast and then I baked it in the oven. I was thrilled with their reaction! They absolutely loved it.

I then added some of this rotisserie chicken rub into a potato bake (of all things) and it was absolutely divine. As I always say the possibilities are endless with our products.

Wanna add some depth to a boring spaghetti bolognaise? Then I dare you to add some of our Rotisserie Chicken Rub into the bolognaise sauce! You will never look back I promise you!

I would recommend if using a medium sized whole chicken (1.45 – 1.65kgs) use 50 grams of our Rotisserie Chicken Rub. For a large sized whole chicken (1.65-2.5kgs) then use 100 grams of our Rotisserie Chicken Rub.

We hope you love it as much as we do!

From our kitchen to yours!

Happy Cooking! Happy Seasoning!

Irene
