Introducing Zoitsa Homely Produce’s Salt & Pepper Seasoning…
I really love to play around with salt. I honestly can’t tell you why I do but I just do. I find I like to use salt as a base when I am playing around in the kitchen trying to come up with something that is tasty, and different.
So how our version of Salt and Pepper Seasoning came around as one day I wanted to season some chicken, but I wanted to add a bit of sugar and spice. I wanted to have the chicken taste savoury and salty, but I wanted a little bit of a kick in there and I wanted a little bit of sweetness to roll behind the scenes.
So, I added a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, and then a little bit more of this and then let’s add some heat. Back and forwards, round and round and round again and BOOM I got it to exactly how I had envisioned it in my head and tastebuds.
Our two main base ingredients are salt and sugar. So, we highly recommend that with not only this seasoning but all our products, is to always use them sparingly. Less is more. We add no junk in our products, so our products are a lot more potent than your everyday blends. Salts and sugars should always be used in smaller amounts. Then again, I try to live my life with eating everything in moderation. I don’t like to deprive myself of what my body is craving. For me it’s all about appeasing the cravings but making sure what I consume is of good quality and in moderation.
I digress! Our Salt & Pepper Seasoning is beautiful on chicken, and it takes popcorn to spectacular heights! It works superbly on roasted vegetables. There really are limitless possibilities for its use. We were recently playing around in the kitchen and decided to use this as a rim salt on a Vodka Margarita, and it was SUBLIME! – you can thank me later for that suggestion!
At first taste your taste buds sense out the salt and Chinese 5 spice (made by Zoitsa Homely Produce)which has a licoricey like flavour and scent but then a warmth due to the cinnamon, those flavours come on strong (like a bad first date!) and then the chilli rolls in (like a steamroller), then suddenly this angelic sweetness of ginger comes flowering in and the other three spices sort of go on hold for a minute. Then the last hit is the garlic with this nutty aftertaste.
Then somehow, they all just unite into this glorious blend. You truly must experience it to understand what I am talking about.
Our Salt & Pepper Seasoning is a unique and quirky tasting blend but it honest just marries well together. Shout out and let us know how YOU use it!
Bon Appetit

It’s a whacky seasoning but it works so well on anything! Thank you for your kind words!
