Sweet Chilli Rub

Introducing our Sweet Chilli Rub. It’s sweet yet spicy!

First impressions are that you get hit with sweetness and then a beautiful heat just rolls around your mouth. As mentioned before it’s heat not a burn.

Our version has sweet paprika, coconut sugar, mustard, onion, chilli, cumin, garlic, kosher salt, peppercorns and cinnamon.

Perfect rub for pork, pork ribs, chicken, salmon, beef, lamb, and faux meats. It is absolutely delightful on prawns and I love to sprinkle a little on homemade pita bread and pop it in the oven for 5-10 minutes.

The use of coconut sugar is so it brings out the sweetness to balance the chilli and the cumin just adds more depth.

We’ve added the right amount of salt so no need to add any more. I prefer Kosher salt in this recipe as Kosher Salt grains are chunky and rough. Kosher salt is great for curing meat before cooking.

I’ve used, cooked and played around with this rub quite a bit and I have some really great recipes and suggestions on how to use it. If anyone is interested please shout out and let me know and I would love nothing more than to share them with you.

This is the perfect blend of sweet, savoury and spice.
