I don’t only use our Chicken Salt on hot chips, but I love to use it on a roast chicken (olive oil rub and then rub in some chicken salt), but I also use it on popcorn, as a dry rub on chicken/faux chicken, potato bakes, roast vegetables, turns bland pumpkin into a killer pumpkin! I also use it, and this might shock some, is that I use it in my steamed rice. Rice essentially has no flavour. For me rice is a vehicle that carries sauces, herbs and spices, to add flavour. I sprinkle some in my rice water let it cook with the rice. The taste is out of this world. My hubby and I plan on using it as cocktail rim on a Bloody Mary this weekend (I will keep you posted on that outcome).
I read that not only is Chicken Salt iconic in Australia, but the Americans have jumped on ship and love the stuff. Who can blame them right? It has somehow found its way to the US shores, and it has taken the country by storm. They love the stuff as much as we do!
